Events Infomation
These are events in Gwangalli.
1. Drone Show
Date: Every Saturday evening, twice a week (10 minutes per session)
Location: Gwangalli Main Beach
- Summer Season (March to September): 20:00 / 22:00
- Winter Season (October to February): 19:00 / 21:00
- New Year's Eve Countdown event is held on December 31st annually.
- In case of overlapping schedules with other festivals and events, the Drone Show will not be held.
2. Fireworks Festival
Date: Last Saturday of October or First Saturday of November
Location: Gwangalli Main Beach
- Typically held from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM (subject to slight variations depending on weather conditions)
- It can get quite cold if you stay outside for more than ten minutes. We recommend packing food beforehand and watching from the living room of your accommodation!
- Please note that traffic tends to get heavy from the afternoon onwards.
3. Eo-Bang Festival
Date: May 10th, 2024 (Friday) to May 12th, 2024 (Sunday)
Location: Gwangalli Main Beach
- In ancient times during the Joseon Dynasty, Gwangalli was a small fishing village. Fishermen made a living from fishing, forming a community with nearby fishermen and naval forces, where they would catch and share fish together. In short, the collective organization of fishermen and navy during the Joseon Dynasty could be referred to as '어방 (Eo-bang)'.
- Events include musicals, Hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) experiences, bare-hand fishing, craft making experiences, street parades, and more.
- It's a great event for families with children to enjoy.
- Most transactions are done in cash or via bank transfer.
4. Dal-zip Burning Ceremony
Date: February 24th, 2024, on the 15th day of the first lunar month
Location: Gwangalli Main Beach
- This event is held to drive away bad luck and welcome good fortune for the upcoming year.
- Traditional percussion music accompanies the ceremony.
- Typically, the burning of the moon house takes place around 6:00 PM.
- Writing New Year's wishes is also part of the event.
5. Cherry Blossoms
Date: Late March to Early April
Location: Gwangalli, Namcheon-dong, Minrak vicinity
- Namcheon Samik Beach Apartments are famous cherry blossom spots in Busan.
- There are also cherry blossom paths near the promenade of Minrak Waterside Park.
6. Summer Activities
Date: June to August
Location: Gwangalli Marine Sports Center (222 Gwangalli Beach Road, Suyeong-gu)
- Experience activities like parasailing, jet skiing, yachting, banana boat rides, paddle boating, kayaking, and more.
- Activities can be bundled into packages.
6. Yacht Tours
Date: Always
Location: Gwangalli Marine Sports Center (222 Gwangalli Beach Road, Suyeong-gu)
- Enjoy approximately an hour-long yacht ride for around 20,000 won per person.
- In the evening, small fireworks are set off from the yacht.
- ID is required.
- It's even more beautiful to ride during sunset.
